Open Days

We warmly welcome you to visit our school and see us in action.  You are more than welcome to take a tour of our classrooms and grounds to get a feel for our learning environment.  A member of our Leadership Team will show you round and answer any questions you may have.  Our scheduled Open Days are:


  • Wednesday 2nd October 2024 - 09:30 to 12:00 noon
  • Thursday 10th October 2024 - 09:30 to 12:00 noon
  • Friday 15th November 2024 - 09:30 to 12:00 noon
  • Friday 10th January 2025 - 09:30 to 12:00 noon


If you are unable to attend on these dates, please do not hesitate to contact our office on 01454 866680 to arrange a tour at a time convenient to you.

CONSULTATION - Admissions Policy 2026 - 2027

The Governing Body of Christ the King Catholic Primary are consulting on their proposed admission arrangements for 2026-27 school year. 

Proposed changes from the existing arrangements include:


Introduction of new over-subscription criteria for:

  • children who are a member of an Eastern Christian Church;
  • children of another Christian denomination;
  • children of another faith;
  • children of a member of schools staff, within each category


Introduction of a new Supplementary Information Form - to help process applications from those applying under the religious and/or staff categories


New In-Year application form - reflecting the above new criteria, for those applying for admission ‘In-year’ i.e. during the school year and not at the start of the Reception Year


Use of Random Number Generator - to help rank applicants, rather than drawing lots.


Revised definition of home address - to include any address where the child spends any part of the school week.


Comments are not being sought on the rest of the arrangements.


You are invited to provide any comments you may wish for consideration on the proposed arrangements by 12.00pm Noon on 20 December 2024. Applications for Reception Place (September 2024 Start): Applications for a place in our Reception Class, starting in September 2023, should be made through South Gloucestershire Council Department for Children, Adults & Health. Click here to link to the application page.

Casual In-Year Applications

Casual (in year) Applications: these applications are those which fall outside the normal admissions round ie: not necessarily a September or Reception Class start. These applications should be made directly to Christ the King Catholic Primary School. Please contact the school office on 01454 866680 or e-mail school@christthekingprimary.co.uk for an application form .  These applications will then be considered by the Admissions Committee against the criteria listed in the School's Admissions Policy. Please see above for a copy of our current admissions policy.


Appeals: Parents/carers have the right to appeal against the refusal by the Governing Body to admit their child/ren. Please refer to our admissions policy for further information. Appeals will be arranged by the Diocese of Clifton Department for Schools and Colleges and conducted in accordance with the Code of Practice on School Appeals.
